In 1948, nearly 1 million Palestinians were forced out of their houses, businesses, land, schools and classified as refugees, with the right of return to Palestine, but not the right of citizenship in nations in the Levant. Genocide and apartheid started in 1948, and amped up on October 8th, 2023, when the heavily armed occupiers of Gaza demanded everyone leave homes, businesses, sick beds within 24 hours, and blocked all exits an entrances for water, electricity, food and other supplies. We declared war on the earth the minute we learned how to start a fire, how to burn wood and oxygen into ash and that stayed on the ground and carbon dioxide that floated in the air.
We can declare peace by accepting that we do not own the earth, we are merely stewards passing through, and our duty is to cut down use of resources, and cut down waste.
1. Walk, ride a bicycle or use public transport.
2. Do not buy or accept plastic water. Drink tap water in the United States and Europe. Recycle all plastic.
3. Bring buckets into the shower and use the run-off to flush the toilets and water plants.
4. Collect rinse water from washing machine and use it to water tomatoes, peppers, spinach, soy beans.
5. Do not buy too much food. Have a small fridge that goes under the table so you don't have the possibility of loading it with food you will throw out.
6. Avoid processed food. Bread, that is ok, make it yourself if you can. Avoid buying anything that comes in a paper or plastic box.
7. Avoid canned and fresh fish. Overfishing and trash has decimated the fish populations, and the world's coral reefs and turned the oceans into trash dumps.

Looking at the definitions of war and peace, and the first and second laws of thermodynamics, I have come to the conclusion that humans are always at war, from the first gasp of breath, the first insistence to drink mother's milk, to the last breath. The goal of life of the peace-seeker is to lessen the war as much as possible.
Life is war. We only can be nourished by food that was made by living animals and plants. Animals either have to die to feed us or else kept captive: bees, cows, chicken. Can we live entirely off food that did not involve anything dying? Yes. From plants. My youngest son has been vegan for 8 years, and he almost has a full-time job eating nothing with any sort of animal product.
Life is also about compromise. We eat what we can get most easily. If all we have is money, and all we can buy is hot dogs, that is what we eat. The ideal peaceful solution is to let every person have access to a small plot of land, and a water supply, to grow what they eat. What needs to be on this land? High protein source, high iron source, high vitamin source. We knew all this, and need to learn it again.
Life is simple. Every person has the right to have the tools for a long healthy life. These tools are education and paid work. Education brings skills, paid work gives the ability to barter skills for food, shelter, healthcare. When the ability of a single person to provide food, shelter and healthcare is taken away, the taker has declared war.
